For houses purchased from 01/01/2011 onwards, the income tax base of each taxpayer is taken into account to decide whether this tax deduction is applicable or not. Three bands of tax base exist in this regard:

  • Income tax base equal to or less than 17,707.20 Euros per annum: maximum base for deduction is 9,040 Euros per year.
  • Income tax base between 17,707.20 and 24,107.20 Euros per annum: maximum base for deduction is 9,040 Euros minus the result of multiplying the difference between the tax base and 17,707.20 Euros per year by 1.4125.
  • Income tax base over 24,107.20 Euros. No tax deduction is applicable for the purchase of the habitual dwelling.
